Differences jacket, cardigan, sweater and jacket

What

Blouse

The jacket is a pattern of knitted outerwear, zipped. Sweatshirts appeared quite a long time. The manuscripts of ancient Egypt describe a thing very similar to a blouse. And in the 18th century, Irish seafarers began to wear sweaters, as a wool sweater well protects against wind and wet.

The jacket can be with a large, stand-up collar, or not at all have a collar. Some may confuse a jacket with a cardigan, but this is not terrible, since a clear distinction appeared relatively recently.

Cardigan

A cardigan is wool knitted clothing that is buttoned. The name "Cardigan" is derived from the Count Cardigan. It was he who invented clothes with buttons as an alternative to a warm uniform. Today, cardigans are in great demand, both in men and women. Cardigan can be worn with pants and trousers, and with dresses and skirts.

Sweater

Sweater - outerwear, which has no zippers. The most important difference between a sweater is a collar. The product in which there is no collar is not a sweater. The word "sweater" comes from the English "sweater", which means "to sweat." The fact is that the sweater was originally created from natural wool. If the jacket can be knitted, then the sweater is made exclusively of wool.

Jacket

A jacket is a sample of a short version of clothes for women. The length of the jacket usually reaches the waist, only some models have a length almost to the buttocks. A distinctive feature of the jacket is that it is intended only for the fair sex. Jacket is used to create an image for every day. It can be combined with both pants and trousers, as with skirts and dresses.

Pullover

Pullover is another version of knitted clothes. The pullover, as a rule, has a triangular notch, and at the same time has no fasteners. The name “pullover” also comes from the English word “pull over”, which means “put on top”. Initially, pullovers were worn only by the representatives of the stronger sex. Especially they were common in athletes because of their convenience. And only in the 20th century, Coco Chanel introduced pullovers into women's wardrobe. The clothes turned out to be so comfortable and practical that they won the hearts and a safe place in the wardrobe for women. Today, as well as two centuries ago, pullovers are most often worn by men.

Differences

So, consider the difference between these things from each other:

  1. Sweatshirt and cardigan. Both options are performed in the way - knitting, but the jacket is fastened with a zipper, and the cardigan is exclusively on buttons. Also, the cardigan has a deep cut, has a fitted cut. Some models have a strap. A cardigan can have a length up to the knees, while a jacket has a length up to the waist.
  2. Sweater. Unlike other options, which can be made of knitwear, a sweater is made exclusively of wool. Another feature that a sweater has is a large, neck-fitting collar. The collar, if desired, can be folded in two or three layers. The thing that drove the collar is not a sweater.
  3. Pullover. Most often, the pullover is made of knitwear. Pullover is worn over the head, has a V-neck.
  4. Jacket. The main difference of the jacket is that it is exclusively female part of clothes.
