Egyptian makeup
Ancient Egypt is called the birthplace of modern makeup. It was in this state that the first eye shadow, lipstick and tonal tool appeared. In addition, Egyptian women used the prototype of modern nail polish. They are still considered very beautiful women.
Egyptian makeup existed several millennia ago, and today it is no less popular.
Present time
If at the time of Cleopatra, clay, copper oxide and ashes, various unsafe pigmented compounds were used as decorative cosmetics, today qualitative cosmetics for creating Egyptian makeup comes to the first place.
To create it, you need to equip yourself with modern decorative products: foundation, black eyeliner and mascara, red lipstick.
Create a tone
Perfectly even skin tone is the basis of any make-up, including Cleopatra-style makeup. The ancient Egyptian women had dark skin, bronze tan, and an oval face shape, so this should be taken as the standard of the Egyptian make-up. It is necessary to choose a foundation with a slight tanning effect or additionally use a bronzer. The latter can be applied to the neck, décolleté, shoulders, arms and legs to complete the image.
If you are the owner of an oval-shaped face from nature, you will not have to adjust it additionally. With a square type, use a dark concealer and visually make the face more elongated: outline the cheekbones with a dark shade, lighten the rest of the lower part with a highlighter.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian women had pronounced high cheekbones, so it is worth emphasizing this area with the help of dark corrective means.
Select the eyes
In Egyptian makeup, the emphasis is on the eyes - the mirrors of the female soul. Mysterious, deep and fascinating look is obtained through contrasts and the use of pigmented compositions - black mascara and eyeliner (pencil), rich shades of shadows, selected in accordance with the natural shade of the eyes. To create a seductive "cat" cut, you need to take into account a number of recommendations:
- Pre-apply on the mobile eyelid shadow. Brown-eyed are suitable for golden and lilac shades, for green eyes, choose pink or ocher shades, for blue ones - black or dark blue, for gray ones - brown, green.
- You can combine shades and use 2-3 suitable and complementary colors.
- Distribute the shadows: on the mobile eyelid - a rich shade that goes into the haze closer to the eyebrow. In Egyptian makeup, the shadows are applied almost to the eyebrow - so as to create a smooth transition from rich to light color.
- Now you need to spend two lines on the growth of eyelashes in the upper and lower eyelids (underline the eye section). This can be done with a pencil, it is easy to apply and shade later, and the end result can be fixed with liner.
- You can connect the lines of the lower and upper eyelids into an arrow that will have an upward direction, or leave the space “free” and fill it with a white pencil.
- Circle the eyes once again with a thick line using an eyeliner or a pencil, leading it beyond the limits of the natural incision;
- Thickly dye your eyelashes with black coal mascara. The thicker and longer the eyelashes, the better.
- Particular attention should be paid to the upper eyelashes, they should be wide open and fluffy. Bottom enough to paint in one layer.
Eyes - the main element in the image of Cleopatra. It is important to emphasize their natural incision with rich black color and eyeliner, which affects both the lower and upper eyelids.Experiment with the length of the arrows and the width of the lines, do not be afraid to be bright. The brighter the eyes are drawn, the more realistic the image will be. The final lines must be clear and stable.
Makeup should look neat and have no flaws. To create it, choose high-quality cosmetics (and especially mascara, eyeliner), which will not crumble or smear at any opportunity.
Create eyebrows
After creating eye makeup is to go to the design of the eyebrows. Such a sequence may not be very familiar, but it allows you to make a harmonious make-up and not to overdo it with cosmetics in the upper part of the face. The eyebrows of the woman of Ancient Egypt are strictly delineated, wide, have a diagonal and a bend. It is necessary to create the most natural eyebrows, the shade of which will match the hair color.
It is necessary to draw hairs from the bottom and upwards, repeating their natural image. The thinner the pencil lead, the clearer the edges will be.
Record the result will help the mascara for eyebrows, it will visually make them more voluminous.
Last step - lips
Nefertiti style lips are almost nude, with natural shine. It is recommended to choose a shade of lipstick on 1-2 tones more darkly than a natural skin shade, and at the same time it does not matter whether the color will tend to brown or pink.
Egyptian makeup differs in brightness and strict clear lines, especially in the eyebrows and eyes. True Egyptian women had dark skin, lush, contoured eyebrows and green eyes, but not every representative of the ancient civilization could boast of such appearance. To emphasize their beauty, women used various pigments to color eyelids, eyelashes and lips. Today, every woman can do Egyptian makeup step by step, selecting the appropriate shades of decorative cosmetics and drawing an individual image right on her face.
The main rule - do not be afraid of bright and clear lines that delineate the eyes and create the effect of "cat's-eye".
Features
- In Egyptian makeup, the outline of the upper eyelid resembles the shape of a semicircle, while the lower one has a straight shape.
- It doesn’t matter whether the two lines of the eyelid intersect. For a visual increase in the eyes, use the “parallel stroke” technique: do not cross the lines between you, but continue to lead them to the temple area. If the eyes are large by nature, feel free to connect the eyeliner lines with each other and take them as far as possible.
- A feature of the Egyptian makeup is the elongated eyebrow, which seems to be pulled along the eyeliner line in parallel.
- Lips may be red or even with brown pigment.
- Egyptian makeup may also vary - for example, in the classic Cleopatra image red, golden and black shades prevailed. Queen Nefertiti made additional pigments - like blue and blue tones on the eyes.
- It is necessary to exclude pale skin. Egyptian makeup looks especially good on tanned ladies.
- Bronzer should be applied to the entire face within this type of makeup.
- As for the arrows, the eyeliner lines, you can experiment and draw not simple straight lines, but create small patterns. You can, for example, display a few more lines from the arrow.
