Eye cream after 40 years

In poetry, the eyes are often compared to lakes. And so that their beauty does not grow dark over the years, the area of ​​the eyelids requires special care and careful selection of cosmetic creams.

Flabbiness. The skin around the eyes is very thin, and the fatty tissue in it is practically absent. Collagen and elastin fibers are not numerous. After 40 years, the destruction of these fibers begins to prevail over the synthesis.

Some manufacturers position their anti-age eye creams as containing collagen. Those who are guided by the choice of these parameters should know:

• Collagen of animal origin cannot penetrate into the dermis due to the very large size of the molecules, in addition, it is often incompatible with human skin fibers. Such creams are simply useless.
• More effective products contain collagen of plant origin (wheat proteins).
• Molecules of marine collagen are the most "penetrating" into the dermis, it is easier to assimilate in the human body.

Dryness. The state of hydration of the skin around the eyes depends on hyaluronic acid. In the composition of creams, it is low molecular weight (molecules with a short chain) and high molecular weight. Different molecules have different functions:

• Molecules with a short chain easily penetrate into the deep layers. Their role in instant hydration is small. They work for the future, contributing to the production of collagen.
• Long molecular chains remain in the epidermis. They attract water from the environment, form a hydrophilic film on the surface of the skin, and create an instant moisturizing effect.

Mimic wrinkles. The eye muscles are most likely to contract, so the skin in this area is threatened with the appearance of small wrinkles in youth. Unfortunately, a cream that completely relieves mimic wrinkles does not exist.

Dark spots. The causes of their appearance around the eyes have not been studied. It is assumed that malfunctions in the cells that produce melanin, are due to hormonal changes in the body during active exposure to ultraviolet rays. Therefore, for prevention it is recommended to wear sunglasses and use cosmetics with UV protection.

The structure of the cream should be light (too fat cream will cause weighting of the skin and may lead to swelling). It must be absorbed quickly, be PH-neutral so as not to irritate the eyes, and contain the following components:

• Retinol (Vitamin A) or its derivatives (retinoids) generate the appearance and growth of new cells, contribute to the formation of collagen fibers.
• Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - An antioxidant, creates a lifting effect, improves blood circulation, protects against adverse external influences.
• Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is a powerful antioxidant and stimulator of fibroblast reproduction (cells responsible for the synthesis of collagen, elastin, hyaluron).
• Hyaluronic acid.

• Of particular note is peptides (protein components) - this is a relatively new word in cosmetology.. Peptides are able to penetrate into the deeper layers, activate biological processes in them and “carry” with them the substances contained in cosmetic products.

1. Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline) relieves spasms of mimic wrinkles.Its action is similar to the action of botulinum toxin, with the only difference that the signal from the nerve endings to the muscles is not blocked completely, but weakened and delayed.
2. Palmitoyl Pentapeptide (Matryxil) activates collagen biosynthesis.
3. Copper containing GHK-Cu, stimulates skin remodeling, helps to destroy worn, inactive skin structures and build new effective ones.
4. Decoinil tetrapeptide controls the quality of newly synthesized collagen, “watches” so that it acquires the correct forms, and does not turn into useless deposits.

• Azelaic acid necessary for the skin in cases of acne, hyperpigmentation, lethargy and ptosis. Eye creams, as a rule, do not include this component in their composition due to irritant action on the mucous membrane. Therefore, you can fight stains using conventional 20% creams with azelaic acid ("Azelik", "Skinoren", GiGi "Bioplasma"). They are much more effective than caffeine-containing products designed to eliminate stagnation and under eye circles.

After examining the anti-aging eye creams, analyzing their popularity rating among consumers, we can conclude that Russian women prefer the products of domestic manufacturers or cosmetic companies from neighboring countries.
