Face oil
Oils - the perfect cosmetic. They have a rich composition, and the natural and complete absorption of the skin turns them into a time-tested method of effective care. With proper use, their components are able to solve almost all skin problems and eliminate relapses.
Kinds
According to the ancient Indian teachings of Ayurveda, only those remedies are good for human skin, with which nature has endowed him. This fully applies to oils, but only works when they are made from natural biological ingredients, and not synthesized artificially.
As raw materials for production of natural oils various parts of plants can serve:
- Seeds of cereals: flax, sunflower, hemp;
- The nuts: walnut, cedar or almond;
- Fruitscontaining bones: apricot, avocado, olive or peach;
- Herbs: rose, sage, saffron;
- Spice: ginger, cinnamon or cloves.
- By type of consistency they are divided into liquid, thick or solid.
- Solid, also known as “butter” - is shea butter, coconut, palm, as well as coffee and cocoa butter.
- To thick include such as avocado, castor and cooked from wheat germ.
- All others are liquid.
There are base oils or “conductors”, and essential oils, which have a high saturation of the components and therefore cannot be used in pure form.
Basic
Consider the most famous of the oils - conductors and their compatibility.
The rarest and most expensive in the world is argan butter. It has a huge amount of useful qualities due to its composition. Used both independently and as a basis.
Avocado it does not make sense to use in its pure form, it is useful in a mixture with apricot, peach and grape seed oil; is a good conductor for essential oils.
But watermelon seed oil should be used solely as an independent means.
Karite (or shea butter) has a solid form, so before use it must be melted in a water bath. A peculiarity is the fact that a karite is stored for no more than two years, after this period it loses most of its useful qualities. It is used both independently and as a conductor for esters. Often used for the manufacture of creams, gels and ointments.
Burdock and peach seed oil also not worth mixing with other basics, they can be used in pure form or with the addition of esters.
Palm oil it is used either independently or added to the composition of masks and creams, it is not recommended to mix it with other bases.
But sea buckthorn oil It can be used in its pure form only when treating affected areas, since it has a pronounced coloring effect. Mixed with almost all the basics, used to create creams and masks.
Green coffee oil is one of the noble and the most expensive, it is an ingredient of ointments for psoriasis, burns, age-related changes in the form of pigmentation.
Oil obtained from broccoli cabbage seeds, unfamiliar to the domestic consumer, can be considered a source of natural silicone, due to the high content of erucic acid, acting as a stabilizer. It is applied in its pure form, and is added to lotions, balms and lipstick.
To the exotic include the one that is made from evening primrose, or, as they are called, enotera.This is a very expensive product, because it is obtained from flower seeds. A feature of this substance is its ability to enhance the effect of any of the base oils, in which an enotera is added, and thereby enhance the therapeutic effect. There is a contraindication to the use of this product, it is a disease of psoriasis.
Also include the base Brazilian and walnut oil, peanut, mustard, cedar, castor, coconut, sesame, linseed, melon, jojoba, macadam, Hypericum, calendula, wheat germ oil, sea buckthorn and many others. In total there are almost 50 species.
Essential
There are up to 500 types of natural compounds related to essential oils. They are called ethereal due to their volatility and aroma, by analogy with the Greek word "ether", which means "a layer of air that the gods breathe." All such compounds are very actively evaporated and have pronounced odors of varying intensity, while they are potent biologically active substances that can cause allergic reactions.
For this reason, they are never used in their pure form, but are added a few drops to the base oil, or to the cream, for example, based on petroleum jelly.
Some of the airs are well known to the Russian consumer, for example, aloe vera, clove, bergamot, jasmine, saffron, fir or eucalyptus.
Rare for us are such natural substances as widely known in Asian countries mango butter. It has a semi-solid consistency, is distinguished by an increased level of fatty acids, perfectly moisturizes and at the same time non-camedogenic, that is, does not clog pores, and will not cause the formation of comedones (black spots) on the skin.
Also little known tangerine oilwhich, meanwhile, has an important advantage, consisting in its gentle, mild effect, for this reason it can be used even during pregnancy. It should be noted that it, like all citrus oils, should not be used for application to the skin just before going to a bright sunny color, as it can provoke a sunburn.
Natural camellia oil also not too common product. This is primarily due to the fact that its production is a very complicated and costly process, therefore, in order to save money, manufacturers often dilute it with artificially made, or extracted additives. The natural product is subject to long-term storage, in contrast to the diluted one, which very quickly becomes rancid. A significant plus of Camellia oil is that it is very quickly and fully absorbed, penetrating into the deepest layers of the epidermis, it has no contraindications and can be used by pregnant women and children for all skin types.
Beneficial features
Due to the peculiarities of its molecular structure, cosmetic oils penetrate very deeply into the skin, extending their nourishing effect to the deep layers of the epidermis (even the most “cool” cream, not enriched with oils, is able to influence only the first layer of skin).
Each oil is almost a complete set of vitamins and acids, which heal the skin and at the same time have a cosmetic effect, and this is the reason for the benefits of their use.
Argan oil has a high cost. And this is not by chance, because it is caused by the complexity of its production and a huge range of applications based on medicinal properties:
- Tocopherol prevents premature aging of cells, prolonging youth and maintaining beauty for a long time, thanks to the fact that it activates the reproduction of collagen in cells, which guarantees skin toning and smoothness;
- Vegetable pigments, known as polyphenols, are powerful antioxidants that prevent premature wilting: they and wrinkles smooth and protect against cancer;
- Organic acids have an antibacterial effect, block the inflammation, soothe irritated skin and help the skin to heal quickly, preventing acne from occurring;
- Fatty acid - have a protective effect that repels ultraviolet attacks and low temperatures.
In the video below, the girl talks about the benefits of using argan oil instead of face cream.
Avocado oilwhich is akin to cutaneous fat in its properties, is also a good protective film against ultraviolet rays. Excellent absorbency, as well as its moisturizing and softening properties are shown for aging skin, and for the skin near the eyes.

Grape seed oil is able to compensate for the loss of their own fat skin and hair, dried out as a result of the use of cosmetics and coloring agents. At the same time, it absorbs quickly, is not able to clog the skin pores and normalizes the fat balance, therefore, it is suitable for all skin types.

Shea, or shea butter, has high levels of tocopherol, natural steroids and polyphenols. In combination, these natural components have a beneficial effect on dry, aged skin, moisturizing it, stimulating and making it more elastic. For young skin, this tool will help in case of a tendency to acne, as it is non-comedogenic and anti-inflammatory.

Pistachio - it is a whitening oil that fights pigmentation and freckles, is able to remove traces of post-acne, spider veins and lip cracks.
Application in cosmetology
The use of oils for face care is due to both the uniqueness of the properties of each of them, and the individual features of the skin of each individual. Even with a completely natural composition, oils are not a universal panacea, they must be used correctly. In order to choose the basis for proper care, you should first visit a cosmetologist, determine the type of skin and the cause of problems on it.
From black spots, which are also called comedones, and which provoke inflammation in the clogged ducts of the sebaceous glands, homemade face masks with natural oils can help.
One of these masks is a mixture of activated carbon, aloe vera juice and tea tree oil. It is especially useful in cases where inflammations are already present on the skin, which can be controlled by the tea tree extract, the only ester that has an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effect.
Of black cumin produce oil, which is used in cosmetology in the treatment of many skin pathologies. At the same time it is an anti-aging remedy. Its regular use for fading skin produces a tightening effect; it will look fresher and more elastic. It also eliminates desquamation, and its constituent vitamin B normalizes the water balance.
During pregnancy, the use of caraway oil prevents the formation of unattractive stretch marks on the skin. Another of its useful properties, which are actively used by cosmetologists - it helps to avoid the appearance of edema and small wrinkles, as well as reduce the depth of large ones.
In pure form, this tool can be applied only to some of the most problematic areas of the skin, on which it is desirable to obtain a rapid therapeutic effect. In all other cases, it is worth using a diluted composition, for example, for oily skin it will be helpful to mix one teaspoon of cumin with seven drops of juniper, two drops of bergamot and four drops of rosemary and use this agent daily.
Pull-up action has and wheat germ oil. Moreover, it strengthens the capillaries, thereby saving the face from the appearance of the so-called "mesh", improves the oval of the face, is especially useful for loose skin, as it has the properties to penetrate into its deepest layers, saturating with moisture. However, its use is worth remembering that it has one of the highest rates of comedogenicity, and therefore should not be applied to oily skin.
It is applied by adding a few drops to the finished factory cream immediately before applying it to cleansed skin. In its natural form, it is very viscous, so for use it is also mixed with liquid stone-based bases, for example, with grape, apricot or peach.
The composition of the masks depends primarily on the type of skin and the problems it has.
How to choose the type of skin
The skin, which can be called oily, requires drying compositions, which will make it possible to narrow the pores, normalize the release of intradermal fat, thereby eliminating excessive gloss. Basics such as grape seed oil, almond, jojoba.
Dry skin will be shown moisturizing nutrients that should be applied directly after washing on a wet face. In this case, the oil - the conductors, penetrating into the deeper layers of the skin, will deliver there and fluid molecules. The best way to cope with this task wheat germ, primrose, black sesame or avocado oil.
The normal skin type will perfectly perceive any of the base oils, but almond considered universal for him.
It is also suitable for mixed-type skin, although in this case it is desirable to treat each of the areas with a suitable means for it. The nose, forehead and chin, which are usually fat areas, should be dried. Whiskey, cheeks, the area near the eyes - on the contrary, require moisture.
Care for fading skin is required with special attention. Usually the symptoms of fading are flabbiness and dryness of the skin, as well as peeling of it. In such cases, antioxidant oils, which are argan, avocado, jojoba or borage.
For sensitive skin prone to irritation and redness, suitable apricot kernel oil, calendula, argan, sesame and coconut.
Tips
Before applying the oil, it is imperative to check whether you have any contraindications for the use of this particular substance, which may be associated with existing human diseases.
An example is such a serious disease as psoriasis, in which the use of evening primrose oil, or evening primrose, is unacceptable. But other means, such as shea butter, on the contrary, is indicated for psoriasis.
In any case, if you have any health problems, you should consult with your doctor before using new skin care products.
In addition, oils can cause allergies, since all of them, in fact, are biologically active substances. When choosing an oil, it is worth checking for sensitivity of the skin. In order to make sure that the newly used tool does not cause a rash on the face, it is necessary to first apply a small amount of it on the skin in the bend of the elbow, or on the wrist. If after a few hours there is no redness or itching on the skin at the application site, then it is safe.
When mixing oils it is necessary to remember that not all of them can be combined with each other, some are used exclusively in pure form, in addition, no more than five ingredients can be combined in one composition.
Basic rules for combining:
- Choose the oil - the base under the type of their skin;
- Ensure that the esters included in the composition are also suitable for this type of skin;
- None of the components will activate the action of the sebaceous glands of the epidermis (that is, it is not gummedogenic);
- That they are able to enhance the effects of each other;
- It is not necessary to combine in one mixture more than two components with a strong local irritant effect.
Apply the mixture on the skin should be properly. First, pour a little on the palm, then dip the fingertips and apply with soft circular motions on the face and neck. You should start from the chin, moving up the facial contours. Then from the lips on the cheeks. Then in circular motions from cheeks to temples, after which the cheeks themselves are massaged directly. The final stage is the neck area, which is processed, smoothing from the center.
Natural vegetable oils can be useful when applying decorative cosmetics, for example, to replace a primer containing artificial silicone, broccoli cabbage seed oil can be used.
This is a natural tightening agent that works great as a makeup primer. Having a good sliding property, it even in a small amount perfectly covers the face, so even a few drops will be enough. Without giving a greasy, it smoothes the surface of the skin of the face, so the makeup will look natural and will last in good condition for several hours.
When buying a natural vegetable oil, it is advisable to inquire how it was produced. The first cold-pressed oil will have the most beneficial effect on the skin, but it will also differ significantly in cost, so if you want to experiment with an unknown and previously unused tool, it is better to buy a quality sample of it in a small sample container.

Special attention deserves oil from stretch marks and scars "Bio Oil". This product is manufactured in South Africa at the plant of the Swedish concern Cederroth.The composition of this cosmetic mixture includes a rare oil, called Purcellin, which is a synthetic analogue of a complex natural extract produced by the glands of aquatic birds.
