Women wore long dresses, which also consisted of two pieces of fabric sewn together. After some time, women's clothing has acquired a slightly different form: the sleeves and the deep neckline (neckline) have become mandatory.

Outerwear acted long cloaks, equipped with hoods. Such clothes were the prototype of the modern national costume.

An interesting fact is that at the beginning it was forbidden to decorate the national clothes of ordinary Bavarians with any kind of embroidery, ribbons, lace, use of bright, variegated colors. This was a privilege of only the highest strata of the population.

Also, urban and peasant national costumes differed in the quality of the used linen: poorer people could not afford to sew clothes from expensive fabrics.
