Kashulyu sewed from flax. Red and red-black ornaments were embroidered on the sleeves and collar. Each ornament had its own ritual significance. It is believed that only Belarusians retained the original form of patterns that existed among the ancient Slavic tribes.

Apron (apron) had a special meaning. He was a symbol of homeliness. The girl had to sew her first apron on her own. This meant that the girl becomes the mistress.

The sleeveless jacket, which was otherwise called garset, was worn for the holidays. It was sewn of silk, velvet, brocade or other expensive fabric. A garsette was judged on the material situation of a person, so Belarusians sought to make a rich impression. For this, it was decorated with various stripes, appliqués, and embroidery.

A woven or knitted belt was embroidered with a white, green or red ornament.

At any time of the year, the girl and the woman had to wear a hat. If for a girl it was considered sufficient to wear a wreath and ribbons, then a married woman could not go out to people with uncovered hair. She hid them under a cap, and on top she tied a namitka or a scarf.
