An individual cut is characteristic for each region. In general, women's dresses are presented in straight laconic silhouettes. Shirts are always divided into three types: using inserts, on a yoke and tunic-like (the most common option). As a constituent element of women's attire acted as a poneva - clothing covering the back of the body, and it was fixed at the waist. Female

At the base of the women's costume was a shirt called Koszuli. It is somewhat longer than the male versions, and consists of two parts. For the holidays, women wore a special shirt, called “dodilnya”, in the design of which hand embroidery was used. Bright and elegant sashes acted as a belt. The lower part could be the derga (working version), the reserve or plahta.

A special place in the women's suit was occupied by embroidery.

Child

As for children's clothes, it was a reduced copy of adult options. In the costumes there were no differences by gender. Both boys and girls wore a long shirt. After reaching the appropriate age, children were allowed to wear full-fledged Ukrainian outfits.

Male

Dresses for men have always been convenient and practical, and allowed to freely perform any daily work. The basis of the costume was a simple shirt, for the manufacture of which homespun linen was used. The features of the clothing belonged turn-down collar. The shirt was worn under trousers (trousers), fixed with spectacles.

It is worth noting that in Western Ukraine the costume was somewhat different from the traditional version. Instead of a sharovar, men wore skinny trousers that resemble “pipes” (modern clothes). For tying shirts and heels used sash-belt. The design of this element has always been engaged in a wife or bride.

Suit in modern style

Today, stylized costumes are especially popular. Such outfits are presented in the Ukrainian style, but they are based on modern elements of clothing. Quite often, traditional embroidery is complemented with a corset and a cropped skirt. In the design used all the same embroidery. A wreath is used as an accessory.
