Uzbek national costume

Traditional costume tells about the history and characteristics of the nation. It has been formed over the centuries, and therefore, carefully studying it, you can trace the whole life of the people.

Uzbeks are a people with a rich history and interesting traditions. Being a guest of the Uzbeks, you will surely be given tea, and believe me, tea will not end in one cup. And pouring another cup, they will ask: with respect or without? Do not be surprised that by answering in the affirmative, only the bottom of the cup will be covered with tea. Such are the traditions of hospitality and the host will gladly add tea to the dearest guest.

Uzbeks are friendly and patient people. When confessing Islam, the Uzbeks respect every faith. Their own confession prescribes a daily prayer, which must be clothed in closed and comfortable clothing. Thus, under the influence of faith, Uzbek national costume was created.

Uzbek costume is easy to distinguish from any other, because there are features in it that correspond exclusively to Uzbeks.

The color scheme of the national costume varied depending on the location of the Uzbeks. So, the Surkhandarya region was famous for its red color range. An interesting fact is that, despite the color features in each region, no one wore costumes made of black and dark blue matter, fearing to attract failures.

The color palette in women's clothes gave out not only the delicate taste of beauties, but also a position in society. For example, ladies, whose husbands held a high position, dressed in blue and purple clothes, artisans - in green.

Uzbek people love rich fabrics. For example, the top of national dressing gowns is made of velvet or velvet. It should be said that they wore dressing gowns not only in summer, but also during the cool season, and this could not but affect the types of fabric. Despite the similarity in the cut, men's and women's suits have their own fundamental features.

• The first important element for men is chapan. This quilted dressing gown is designed not only for home, but also for everyday life and even celebrations. Holiday models are decorated with rich embroidery of gold threads. Replaces the bathrobe and outerwear, if it has insulation. It is interesting, but the colorful chapans are still popular far beyond the borders of Uzbekistan, they become an expensive gift for beloved men and colleagues.

An integral part of the Uzbeks' wardrobe is a shirt. Its first models were cut off in length to the knees, now you can find a more comfortable length to the middle of the thigh. Named kuylak, it can have a vertical to the chest line or a horizontal notch from shoulder to shoulder.

Wide pants are an obligatory part of the Uzbek costume. Down trousers taper, providing convenience while walking.

Men wear a shirt or robe with a wide belt, which, it should be said, deserves admiration in some models. Belts for celebrations are made of luxurious velvet, beaded, symbolic embroidery and complemented with amulets.

• Woman suit Uzbek beauties consisted of a tunic-like dress. The first models reliably covered the whole body and reached the length of the ankles. The dress was made with the help of straight pieces of fabric and was not much different from a men's shirt. Later, a feminine yoke and gathered cuffs appeared on the dress.

In addition to the dress, the Uzbek woman also put on wide pants. From the men they were distinguished by a bottom decorated with a braid. The same chapan served as outer clothing. After some time, women began to dress in a jacket, as well as feminine vests.

If the costume according to the canons of Islam is to be restrained, then Uzbek women are not limited in jewelry. Speaking of headdresses, initially the woman was wearing a veil. Black was a casual variation. Interesting, but they preferred to put it on only going outside the gates of their own house, being afraid to draw adversity into the family with black. Later, the veil was supplanted by handkerchiefs and skullcaps-duppies.

The Uzbek women used soft boots without a back and a heel, as well as models made of rough leather or rubber. The latter should be said, and to this day they enjoy success due to their excellent thermal properties and convenience.

Men as a headdress originally wore a skullcap. Soft boots were worn as shoes. The Uzbeks of the highest strata of society also had ceremonial boots with a slight slant towards the middle of the sole. This detail was intended for riders, helping them to confidently stay in the saddle.

The beauty of the East has always conquered the Europeans. It is not surprising that even today, modern models of clothing are being created, inspired by the mood of alluring, closed and at the same time very hospitable Uzbekistan.
