How to fold the shirt: effective ways
You always want to look beautiful and neat, but it is not always possible to iron things just before leaving the house. It is especially important for men to keep their shirt fresh and neat. Not always the most effective way - to hang things on the hangers. So that the shirt does not wrinkle in the closet, it is enough to fold it correctly.
How to fold
Before folding the shirt, you need to prepare it:
- Of course, the shirt must be ironed. If you are going to fold several shirts, first iron them all, it will be more convenient and faster. First, iron the collar, then the sleeves, and only after that the shelves and the back.
- After ironing, let the shirts cool. Freshly smoothed fabric is wrinkled very quickly. Hang the shirts on the hangers and button the top button. In this condition, let them hang for half an hour.
- After the shirt has cooled down, fasten all the buttons and lay the shirt back up on a flat surface. Smooth it with your hands so that it is absolutely flat, without folds.
With long sleeve
- Visually divide the shirt into three longitudinal parts. Bend the left third to the back.
- Straighten the sleeve parallel to the side of the shirt. It is better to leave cuffs unbuttoned.
- Similarly, repeat the action on the right side.
- The resulting rectangle is folded three times. First, the lower part is about the width of the palm wrapped around its back. The resulting new rectangle fold in half.
- Now you can stack neat stack in a closet or suitcase.
Another option is to fold the shirt, very similar to the previous one. The only difference is in laying sleeves. The first sleeve is not pulled along the seams, but is gently wrapped in three additions in the upper third of the shirt. The cuff at the same time should be opened and as much as possible smoothed. The second sleeve is stretched in length, and the cuff, buttoned this time, bends up to the edge of the collar.
Short-sleeve
A shirt with a short sleeve folds like a shirt with a long one, with the only difference that you are spared from additional manipulations with sleeves.
Polo
Polo shirts and T-shirts are rarely hung on hangers, and yet in the closet they will also hesitate, if not folded them correctly. There are two simple methods.
The first - a T-shirt is laid out on a flat surface, smoothed by hands. The sleeves are tucked to the center, after which it folds first along and then across.
The second one - the polo shirt, also aligned on a smooth surface, folds in half lengthwise, the sleeves turn over, and then fold across two or three times.
In a suitcase
- If you are packing a suitcase, then before folding the shirt, place a rectangle of thick cardboard inside the back of the shirt. So do packaging shirts in production. Cardboard fixes the shirt folded and it holds its shape longer. You can take a rectangle from the factory packaging or cut it yourself.
- So that expensive shirts do not get dirty, and do not shed on the road, wrap each wrapping paper before packing it in a suitcase. Or use special pockets for storage.
- In order not to deform the solid collar, fold the shirts with the sides to each other with a "jack" - the collar of the top shirt to the bottom of the bottom.
- Some shirts are sold with special plastic holders for the collar and cuff. This is an ideal option for a trip, not allowing the collar to be creased. If you throw away the holders, or the shirt was sold without them, then you can put some soft, light things inside the collar, for example, a thin scarf.
- When laying in a suitcase shirts made of delicate fabrics, as well as polo shirts, you can not fold, and rolled into a roll. It is much easier and does not leave longitudinal and transverse folds on delicate fabrics.
The shirt, as well as when folding, is aligned on a solid surface with the back up, buttoned on all buttons. The sleeves are wrapped back exactly along the shoulder seam line, stacked along the side seams, and the shirt is folded longitudinally three times and wrapped from bottom to top in a roll. When folding in this way, do not make your roll very tight so as not to deform the fabric. The collar does not fold at all - it remains outside, and the thing is put into a suitcase with the collar down.
On the road
If you often go on business trips, and on arrival should look like needles, there are a few more tricks:
- For those who travel frequently, they have invented a special bag for transportation of shirts and suits - portlet. It makes sense to buy it.
- If there are no funds or a desire to buy a carry-bag, give preference to a suitcase with rigid walls, things are less crumpled in it.
- Putting the suitcase, make sure that the shirts and light things lay on top. Otherwise, no matter how well they are folded, creases will remain in places of the folds.
- If while transporting things still slightly crushed, do not worry. Hang them on hangers and hang over a hot bath. They will align quite quickly.
How to quickly fold
Are you always in a hurry, and folding shirts seems like a very long procedure? There is a unique way to fold your shirt in just two seconds! It's called the Japanese method of folding t-shirts.
- It is necessary to spread the shirt on a horizontal surface face up. Now mentally draw two lines - one from the top down from the middle of the right shoulder, parallel to the side seam. At the top of this line is point B, at the bottom is point C. The second line runs perpendicular to the first, approximately in the middle of the shirt. At the intersection of these two lines is point A.
- Take the shirt with your left hand at point A, and your right at point B. Make sure that you grab the fabric not only on the shelves, but also on the backs. Pinch the cloth between thumb and forefinger.
- Move your right hand to point C. The hand moves in a straight line and passes over the left. Grab the shirt at point C with your right hand. Make sure that the entire shirt is captured here, not just the front fabric.
- With a sharp movement, straighten your arms. Simultaneously lift the T-shirt off the surface and shake gently.
- If you did everything right, now the shirt is hanging down from your hands with the remaining sleeve down. Lay it back on the surface so that the sleeve touches it first, and the rest of the shirt lies on it.
This method is suitable for any shirts, polo shirts and T-shirts with short sleeves.
