How to choose a cover for a fur coat?

A warm and durable fur coat makes each of us happy in the cold winter, protecting it from the cold, giving care, comfort and enjoying soft fur. But when winter ends, it is our turn to take care of it, having organized the right conditions for storage until the new cold weather. After all, it depends on how many more seasons the fluffy beauty can serve us, while remaining warm, beautiful and comfortable.

Rules for storage of fur products:

1. Fur must be protected from exposure to both direct sunlight and artificial light of electric lamps. Otherwise, it becomes dull, brittle and even fade.
2. Pile coats need space to breathe properly, not to wipe and not to deform. To do this, you must ensure that other items of clothing do not hang close to the product, do not crush it.
3. For the "breathing" of the fur you also need a sufficient amount of oxygen. Therefore, it is undesirable to store fur in plastic bags and bags, vacuum packs: the product will “suffocate” and become “bruised”.
4. In those days of winter, when the fur coat is not worn, it is not bad to take it out to the balcony for a few hours and let it hang on the frosty air. In the summer, it is necessary to periodically remove the fur coat from the closet and “shake up” the fur.
5. Fur coat must be kept in a hanging position on a hanger. It is unacceptable to put it on the shelf, the more folded several times - it distorts it, spoils the quality of the fur, rewards mezdra creases.
6. The product placed on the hanger should be fastened with all buttons, hooks or zippers. Otherwise, the fur can sometimes stretch out, and the fur coat itself can be pulled off the hanger, wrapped and, therefore, deformed.

8. And, of course, the main assistant, designed to protect the fur coat from dirt, dust, light and insects is a special case for storing the fur coat.

• You can, in the old fashioned way, use traditional methods for storing a fluffy beauty — black pepper or lavender sachet against moths, sew a case with your own hands or, generally hoping to “maybe”, store it in a plastic bag.

• It is also possible to deposit it in a fur refrigerator, if it is, of course, in your city. It is great if there is a possibility of buying such a refrigerator for personal use - it costs, like an average fur coat, not everyone can afford.

• Nevertheless, the most optimal in terms of price and quality, which can be done to properly store a fur coat, is to purchase a special case: both inexpensive and affordable.

A bag for clothes is usually not suitable for storing fur items, as it does not meet the storage conditions necessary for a fur coat. What are the main differences of a special coat for a fur coat from a regular wardrobe?

Best of all is wooden with wide and round hangers. Only this will be able to withstand the weight of a fur coat for a long time, it will not bend, will not break, will not allow the product to sag or deform. Not every ordinary clothing case has such a coat hanger.

Ordinary covers for clothes are often completely or partially made of polyethylene, so that it can be seen what is inside the wardrobe. This is convenient: you can easily find the right thing without unbuttoning the case. When storing fur polyethylene is contraindicated, as it passes natural and artificial light. A small plastic window on the case is admissible, but it is better without it.

Like the hanger, the cover fabric must also be able to withstand the weight of the fur coat. Not every wardrobe can handle it.Also, the fabric should not be too thin and soft, so that the pile of the fur coat does not pierce it.

Because of the voluminous fur, the fur coat takes up more space in the case than any other item of clothing. An ordinary case will begin to compress the product, crushing the fur, preventing it from breathing normally, and maybe even deforming it. The case for storing a fur coat has a special fixed shape, created with the help of a side insert of the same width along the entire length of the case or narrowed to the bottom. The furier the fur and the larger the product, the wider the side insert of the case should be.

• It should correspond to the size of the fur coat, so that folds and creases of the fur, i.e. be spacious enough.
• The existing side insert on the case should be especially wide for fur with a long and wide pile.
• It is also necessary that the length of the cover be longer than the product - by 10-15 cm. On sale you can find covers for fur products from 90 to 130 cm long. Sizes of greater length can be sewn “to order”.

• The ideal cover fabric is made from natural fibers: cotton, linen, canvas (canvas). The cover from such material has high air permeability, good hygroscopicity, opaque.
• The structure of the fabric should be dense and durable, corresponding to a hard and relatively cumbersome top product.
• The case can be made of spunbond - non-woven thermally bonded polypropylene material that allows air to pass through.
• The color of the cover is better to choose dark - blue, black, brown. For white fur is suitable blue. Before using the case, it is good to check the quality of dyeing: does it not shed when wetting it with a damp cloth?

It must be along the entire length of the cover and must begin from the opening for the trempel, and this opening must certainly have additional reinforcement: this part is most susceptible to ruptures and deterioration.

• Many manufacturers impregnate the covers with a special antimole composition. This impregnation is harmless to the fur coat, but it is great that it scares away moths and leather, which are also pests for fur products.

• It is good to additionally place it inside the cover and in the pockets of the fur coat of moth products - naphthalene tablets, lavender sachets, tobacco-flavored bags, cedar balls.

• There are anti-repellent moth sprays. They need to splash on the cover itself, but not on the fur coat. The spray is especially relevant if you consider that over time the antimol impregnation of the cover disappears. These funds also harm kozheedam.
