What is concealer different from concealer?

Girls no longer dream of a beautiful and even tone: thanks to the cosmetic industry, their dreams have long become a reality. And even the owners of problem skin, applying makeup correctly, get the perfect face without pimples, redness or other manifestations of irritation.

Two cosmetic products are used to equalize the tone: concealer and concealer. The first tool has recently appeared on the domestic market, while the second has been present in beautician’s cosmetics bags for a long time. Due to similar functions, these two types of color cosmetics are sometimes confused. Let's see what concealer differs from concealer, what are their features, and in what sequence they are applied.

This tool has a highly pigmented property, it is applied dotted. Its main function is to mask small flaws, for example:

• pimples;
• dark circles under the eyes;
• small patches of redness.

Most often, such decorative cosmetics is superimposed under the eyes.

The composition of such a masking product includes a special pigment that perfectly hides a variety of spots on the face. The structure includes light-reflecting particles, which are designed to hide small flaws, giving the dermis a natural radiance. If the concealer is applied to the skin under the eyes, then the technique of an “inverted triangle” is applied, the edges of which must be very carefully shaded.

There are three types of this cosmetic:

1. Liquid concealer - in contrast to the foundation, its texture is more dense. Due to its lightness and near-zero gravity, it helps disguise dark circles under the eyes. To eliminate pimples and large areas of reddened dermis does not apply.
2. Sticker or pencil - different density and applied to a thin layer of a point. After which it must be carefully shaded. Perfectly masks acne, scars and wrinkles, is not used for the epidermis around the eyes. It should be applied in spiral movements.
3. Mineral concealer - in its structure, it resembles powder. It is also possible to add a matting and antibacterial effect to the correction of skin defects. The foundation acts as a basis for creating a make-up. It is designed to even out the color of the face, to disguise small flaws, and also has a protective and nourishing effect. This cosmetic can be found in the cosmetics bag of almost every beauty.

Foundation differs in its density:

• lightweight - slightly smoothes minor defects, is used by very young individuals;
• tight - corrects serious flaws and is suitable for mature skin.

There are many different types of foundation creams, for example:

• having an aqueous or oily base;
• enriched with vitamins and antioxidants;
• which include natural oils and mineral elements.

The main ingredient of such decorative cosmetics is a color base or pigment, which is used as a coloring matter. The foundation is usually applied after a special makeup base.It is squeezed out by small dots into the areas of the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin, with a brush or sponge it is necessary to distribute it with light movements, as if “driving” into the dermis.

The main difference between the two is as follows:

1. Foundation differs not so oily and dense texture.
2. The pigment of the cream is very similar with the natural shade of the face and has a beige, pink or olive color.
3. Concealer is available in yellow, green and orange.
4. Concealer applied in the area under the eyes.
5. Foundation cream is applied to the entire face and even to the neck.

First, apply the foundation, and then concealer. To do makeup correctly, there are several guidelines for applying concealer:

• It is necessary to apply this decorative cosmetics with warm hands, since this product badly interacts with a cold surface and lays down lumps, not giving the expected result.
• Before using such a means, the skin should be slightly moistened, for example, by moistening it with water, or apply a wet brush or sponge.
• It is very important to choose the appropriate shade concealer. Do not forget that it should be a little lighter than the applied cream, but not much stand out against its background.
• The concealer should be applied only after the foundation, otherwise it will not create the expected result.

Concealer is used for face sculpting:

1. On the T-shaped zone and the central part of the chin impose such cosmetics of light shades, which is different by a tone or two from the foundation.
2. The outlines of the nose and cheekbones need to emphasize a darker (one tone) means.
3. To give expressiveness to the look, a little light makeup should be put under the eyebrows and in the corners of the eyes.
4. At the boundaries of the face you need to use concealer, similar in color to the foundation, in order not to get the result of the “mask”.

After the use of concealer, you need to wait a bit until it dries. If lines of application of this masking product are visible, then you need to put powder on top to hide them.

These two cosmetic products act as an addition to each other. One cannot say that one of them is better than the other. If you want to get the perfect makeup, then it is better to use both. But if you are late for the morning meeting, and there is absolutely no time for makeup, then apply concealer in the area under the eyes. It will remove the traces of lack of sleep, making your eyes brisk and fresh, as if you had just taken a douche.

The tonal cream in this case can harm, making your image tired and highlighting the small wrinkles in the eye area. Therefore, it is not recommended to apply foundation to the areas under the eyes. Do not use concealer and concealer instead of each other. Using two tools in the complex, you can create a perfectly even tone that will highlight your strengths and hide defects.
